From inlet to reusable water, in eight stages
The exact configuration changes by project, but most Aquantam systems follow this sequence.
Screening
Bar screens remove rags, grit and coarse solids before they reach downstream equipment.
Equalization
Flow and load are buffered so the biological stage sees a steady, manageable feed.
Biological treatment
Aerobic bacteria in an MBBR or SBR tank break down dissolved organic matter.
Clarification
Treated water settles, separating biomass sludge from the clarified liquid above it.
Filtration
Pressure sand and activated carbon filters polish the water and strip residual colour and odour.
Disinfection
UV or chlorine dosing reduces pathogens to levels safe for discharge or reuse.
Sludge handling
Excess sludge is thickened and dewatered, cutting disposal volume and cost.
Reuse or discharge
Treated water meets regulatory limits for gardening, flushing, cooling or safe discharge.
